Is the little character suppose to resemble the character from ''Journey''?

Amazing illustration btw! :)

Current generation will inevitably be left in history at some point, but in here the consoles of the day just represent the console gaming industry rather than just Wii, xBox360 and Playstation 3 as physical devices. Unfortunately the article is all in finnish, so it'd probably make more sense in right context. I just played with the idea, what if, the day would come when they were just ruins of some ancient civilization, and leave it open whether console in some form survives.

Hmmm. Don't think they'll die, but they will change forms in the next few years. I'm predicting a super console of sorts, some dedicated gaming machine. People won't stand for exclusive games as time goes on and things become more mainstream me thinks.

Yeah, those were similar thoughts to what the writer was aiming at and I find it likely, too.

....lovely piece....I don't think that consoles are on their way out....but each company has made enough mistakes to have their shares of the market open to outside conquest....=3

What do you think; do you believe that the time of consoles is over? There seems to alot discussion about it nowadays. (Ja onko tuo se ilmais lehti, jota joskus näkee jaeltavan kauppojen peli osastolla?)

So rusty.

No, not in the present. Business is still big and consoles have still more advanced technology compared to portables (tablets, smartphones). I think one advantage of console gaming is the cinematic experience at the moment since you can watch high-res graphics in TV. I think the industry is well aware of popularity of portable gaming, and are also looking for more innovative ways to play. Perhaps classic controller gaming may come to its journeys end in the near future, but console gaming, no, personally I think not.

Damn hard to say how things will turn out, but your idea sounds pretty realistic. Perhaps after twenty or something years later, who knows.

Ja voi pahus :P
