I'm practicing digital inking. I've honestly hated digital line drawing for long time, but it seems like all I needed was brush of my taste. I just toggled the settings of wacom bamboo and Photoshop basic brushes to make drawing easier and more enjoyable.
Goes without saying, but I really like Gravity Falls.
Gorgeous! Great use of a limited colour palette! May I ask what settings you used for the brush used in the linework? I've been meaning to find a nice inking brush
You need to open your wacom settings and toggle soft - firm meter to as firm as possible. That means you have to press harder to broader lines, whereas soft is the most sensitive to pressure. Then you can just choose the most basic brush in Photoshop, the black dot that gets thinner at the ends. Make the roundness smaller percentage. If you can't see the white box with roundness and angle counts next to it, click "brush tip shape" which is at the top of the list of brush settings: [link] You can also change the angle, depending on what kind of line you want to make. 45 degrees is the calligraphic angle for lettering I think, but for lineart you can just test it out. For the roundness, I tend to choose something between 30-40 %. Hope this helps!
I love this! I'm also really surprised that it was inked digitally. I definitely thought that the line was traditional when I saw it, and it's really impressive how you managed to do this on the computer. Well done.
