Title: House of the Dead By: *nayruchan For: horrificwhisper (LJ user) Request: Ocarina of Time/Sheikah betrayal. "Any creative interpretation of the story of the Sheikah tribe". Medium: mixed media (pencils, felt tips, watercolor, gouache, paint marker) Game(s): Ocarina of Time Character(s)/Pairing: sheikah Rating: any...or if sensitive to horror then maybe PG Warnings: eh umm, slight blood/angst/guts? :--D Creator’s Notes:
My part for #zelda-exchange. One of the prompts was interpretation of Sheikah tragedy. For those who don't know, sheikah is a race in Zelda series and not much is told about it except that they were servants of Royal Family and they were wiped off completely at some point in Hyrule history. I posted one sheikah doodle earlier this month but wasn't happy with it and wanted to make something more finished. I watched some video about actual japanese ninja house with all kinds of traps and secret rooms and it inspired me, as well as the shadow temple in OoT, which is also called House of the Dead.
Well now, this is interesting Great job! I really like the use of the colors and the media you used--it certainly gives this piece a bit of flavor but also reinforces the emotion, along with the style you drew it in. Very nice job
if you want to know more about sheikan and why the leave the royale family, try to remember aghanim...and his tunic--->[link] doesn't it make you remember something?
I don't think I've heard of canon information of Aghanims relation to the sheikah. Sure the pattern looks lot like sheikah emblem, but sheikah were almost extinct in Ocarina of Time, and A Link to the Past happens after OoT. It's just my headcanon, that sheikah were a ninja-like clan somewhere between skyward sword - ocarina of time (which could be hundreds years) and their end was tragedy within the clan, perhaps their personal feelings towards each other (jealousy, love, hatred or such) tangled with Hyrulean wars and some kind of treachery. It could have something to do with Ganon toying with them, but in the end, I feel they ended each other within the clan. Maybe I've just read too much ninja drama, haha. If aghanim has anything to do with them I'd say it's because Ganon is Aghanim, and he wears the symbol just to fool the others, he pretends to be a servant of Royal Family after all. Or maybe it's his mockery towards them, if Ganon had something to do with the decline of Sheikah.
of course, but i'm wondering about a relationship(also because in zelda the time line of the vidogame isn't really clear)about what sheik said in OoT and aghanim and i found this interpretation on internet...just wondering
I'm not sure if you've seen the official timeline they released for Hyrule Historia book [link] but at least, it fills in some information to fans, if you want to believe in it, that is <: not everyone accepts the split timeline, though it's official, or even the idea of timeline, as Zelda games were originally just individual games that referenced each other, and sometimes were straight continuation to each other.
when I was teenager I used to argue a lot about Zelda theories/opinions in zeldauniverse.net, I was rather silly, considering I'd never even played all of the zeldas. But I think the speculation is still fun, I wouldn't want to engage in argument about it anymore though haha <: it's just neat when some things 'fit', or make sense, I love all tiny details about Zelda.
